We want our products to do their job, and do it as effectively as possible. They need nothing to hold them back. So that’s what we give them.

It’s what’s inside that counts

It all starts with the ingredients. Quality out demands quality in. We source the best quality raw materials, of the highest purity, then we add ... next to nothing.

Most of our capsule products contain only the active ingredients - and nothing else. When the quantity of ingredients is too small to create a usable product we add one filler, and one filler only: cellulose. Cellulose is a wood-sourced dietary fibre that the body cannot digest. As the active ingredient is released and absorbed, the cellulose simply passes harmlessly through the body.

For our liquid supplements we only add purified water; rated as 18.2MΩ-cm pure. That’s as pure as water can be.

You won’t find any other fillers, humectants, emulsifiers, binders, lubricants or stabilisers within any Metabolics supplements. That’s no magnesium stearate, no stearic acid, no polyvinylpyrrolidone, no glycerine, no sodium carboxymethylcellulose, no silicon dioxide, no maltodextrin. Nothing that could possibly interfere with the active ingredient.

Those extras that you find in some other products are not there for your benefit. They’re used to make products easier to manufacture, or more aesthetically appealing. Some of those additives are lubricants, added to allow the machines to run without clogging. At Metabolics our machines are semi-automatic and run without added lubricants; we de-clog manually.

The capsules – fit for purpose

Our capsules are only made from one of two materials. Most of them are hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, a tongue tripping phrase that’s often condensed to HPMC. It’s also known as hypromellose. It’s a form of cellulose film that is inert and harmless, and dissolves easily after swallowing. Our HPMC capsules are Kosher and Halal certified and approved by the Vegetarian Society.

A small number of encapsulated products are in soft gel capsules. These are made from gelatin, sourced appropriately for the products. For example, fish sourced products that require a soft gel capsule are encapsulated in fish-sourced gelatin.

Putting it all together

Quality really matters to us. It’s the whole point. All of our liquid and HPMC-encapsulated products are manufactured here on our own site, under our rigorous quality control. We follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), an international standard that recognises and ensures manufacturing excellence. We are also certified ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
