- Metabolics was founded by Alison Astill-Smith, a fully registered osteopath trained at the British School of Osteopathy. Alison's frustration was straightforward: the supplements available for use in her practice were not good enough. So she started making her own.
- That decision has shaped everything that followed. From the beginning, Metabolics has been a brand that understands the difference between forms of the same ingredient — not because it is a selling point, but because it is clinically relevant. The wrong form of magnesium does not do the same job as the right one. That precision has never left the company.
- Thirty-five years on, Alison's son Adam leads the business. Trained as an engineer, he brings the same instincts that make good engineering - precision, a commitment to understanding how things work, and a refusal to do things expediently when doing them properly is possible. The company is still family-run. It is still made in Wiltshire. The standards have not changed.
