What Topics Will Be Covered?
What are hormones and what they do – starting from the beginning with the very foundations of the seminar subject.
Understanding the Hypothalamus, Pituitary and Adrenals and the HPA axis – covering hormone-producing glands that are responsible for a host of different functions within the body including body temperature, hunger, mood, sex drive and cortisol.
Understanding the Thyroid and Parathyroid gland, Pineal, Ovaries and Testes and their hormones where they are responsible for different areas within the body and a person’s wellbeing.
Evaluating and treating hormonal dysfunction and covering major hormonal junctions including puberty, menopause and andropause and ways in which we as practitioners can advise patients suffering with adverse symptoms relating to these junctions.
The seminar will also cover the important topic of hormone-related conditions including Hashimotos and Graves’ disease, Polycystic Ovary syndrome, Endometriosis and dysmenorrhea.
Prostate dysfunction, prostate cancer, benign prostatic hypertrophy, prostatitis, Epididymitis, ED are all other conditions that will be covered as we understand different hormones and their importance in keeping the body functioning healthily.
Infertility and pregnancy will also be covered, looking at the main hormones involved and what to monitor in patients.
Finally we will look at endocrine disruptors including the effects of metalloestrogens and the physiologic function of estrogen.
